Lessons From a Christmas Tree!

My Husband and I just got a first tree, this past Saturday.

I love it.

We found it at the bottom of the field, with a little pink tag that said “Rudolph’s Bargain Patch”,  our tree was cheap, because it was not perfect.  It had random branches that stuck out every which way, and places where it was not as filled out.  But the color was a rich deep green, that reminded both of us of the mountains. So we got it, brought it home, put 300 lights on in, and placed it in our bedroom/ living room.

How can a tree this imperfect bring so much joy? bring so much light, and warmth? If I was wise I would take a lesson from this tree, you don’t have to be perfect to be loved, or to shed light into the darkness. Jesus uses the imperfect, and broken of this world to  change it. Just as this little tree is used to brighten our home this season, let His light shine through you to brighten the darkness of this world.

” In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made.In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome[a] it”.  John 1- 1:5

With Christ, we can shine brighter then all the trees in the world.
